BIODIGESTER DESIGN

Every project requires a unique biodigester design and implementation strategy. This is dictated by:
  • the amount expected effluent inflows
  • the size and shape of the biodigester space
  • the soil type and soil profile on the site
  • the client's other specifications such as generation of biogas and whether the outflow water is recycled or drained.
  • the client's budget
After considering all the above, our engineers usually provide a design and recommendations that suite client`s needs and budget. We provide bespoke designs for the grease interceptors, the biodigester tank and the soakage drain.

BIODIGESTER INSTALLATION

A biodigester is a septic tank based on biodegrading the solid matter into water, carbon dioxide and methane gas(biogas). Enzymes and bacteria are introduced into the tank to speed up the decomposition.

A correctly built biodigester can last a lifetime. We understand that this is what you need and therefore recruit and do have a pool of trained team of specialized biodigester construction technicians. Depending on the size of your project, we shall deploy technicians to assure quality and timely construction.
There are various sizes and types of biodigesters. We will guide you on the best type and size depending on your project’s unique characteristics.

We also install prefabricated and pvc(plastic) biodigesters. This includes the plumbing work, soakage construction as well as introduction of the bacteria into the digester.

PLASTIC SEPTIC TANKS

We also supply and install plastic septic tanks. The ready-to-use septic tanks, partially liquefies, and breaks up solid waste by gasification. Through this, anaerobic bacterium develops. Scum is formed, which floats to the surface. This reduces the waste to approximately 1/3 of its volume. The water that leaves the septic tank to the soak-away pit is clear and does not smell. This water can therefore also be directed to a sub-soil irrigation system. Some of the advantages of plastic septic tanks include:
  • The tanks are heavy-duty and are built to last.
  • Has low initial cost.
  • Requires no skilled labour, it is quick and easy to install.
  • There is no maintenance and related costs.
  • Have unique shape and designed to withstand soil pressure.
  • Have double chamber that ensures only clean water enters the soak-away pit.
  • Unlike a concrete tank, it does not allow seepage of water through cracks.
  • Can be developed for communities as well as individual domestic use

DIGESTER ENZYMES

We supply biodigester bacteria and enzymes, commonly referred to as biodigester chemicals, for pit latrines, septic tanks and biodigesters. The choice of bacteria/enzyme is dictated by the needs of the client. e.g A client may need all the sludge biodegraded into water and gases while another may need decomposition of sludge (especially animal effluent) to produce methane gas(biogas) and manure for farming. Generally, the bacteria and the enzymes do the following functions:
  • Speed up the decomposition of the solid matter
  • Improve the quantity of biogas generated.
  • Remove odours
  • Clean and remove harmful germs from the septic tank
The enzymes and bacteria we supply have the following merits:
  • Once introduced into the septic tank, they'll never stop working.
  • They are environmentally friendly.
  • They can withstand toxins flushed into the tank.
  • Can be used for wide range of uses

WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT

We provide solutions to manage both domestic and industrial wastewater from septic tanks. Using the latest wastewater management system, SBR (sequence batch reactor), we can power-efficiently treat water. We also supply water treatment equipment and chemicals.

BIOGAS GENERATION

Methane gas(biogas) is produced when bacteria digest organic matter in absence of oxygen in a process referred to as anaerobic digestion. The gas is odourless and highly flammable making it a good source of clean energy.

Both human and animal effluent can be used to generate biogas. In domestic setting, the biogas that can be produced by human effluent of a few people maybe insignificant and is normally released into the atmosphere. In places with many people such as schools, hospitals, and public toilets, it’s possible to economically produce substantial amount of biogas.

Livestock such as cows produce adequate biomas that can be used to produce huge amount of biogas. We build efficient biogas digesters also artificially introduce bacteria to speed the biodegradation and improve the quality of manure produced. Where human effluent is used to produce the gas, we introduce enzymes and bacteria that completely decompose the biomass into water, biogas and carbon dioxide.
